Introspection
This past week i learned about a tragedy that happened to someone i knew...I don't how many of you heard about it. Stephanie and Christian Nielson, parents of 4 beautiful children were in a plane crash. The pilot was killed and both Stephanie and Christian are in the hospital with severe burns...80% of Stephanie's body was burned.
As i've learned about the tragedy and the outpouring of love and support from her friends, family and complete strangers i can't stop thinking about it every moment of every day. I can picture Stephanie so clearly in our high school english class and what an amazing girl she was even back then...when so many of us were trying to figure out who we were...she already knew. She was confident and strong. Now more than 13 years later she was adored by so many...still strong and confident and a loving mother. Her story and her strength to survive what could have taken her life so easily is inspirational. It has really made me think about my life...it is so full of blessings. So often i take waking up in the morning for granted, even being here to clean up after my kids every day! What a gift it is to wake up each morning and hug my kids, to hear then laugh, even to hear them cry. I pray that their family will have a speedy and full recovery and that i can somehow adore my children in the way Stephanie will the day she wakes up and sees the children she has been fighting to survive for.
For more info on Stephanie, Christian and their beautiful kids you can see her sisters blog. She is taking care of the kids and is a lovely writer, sharing her thoughts feelings and our beliefs on life and life after with all who visit. There is also a link to donate to Stephanie and Christians recovery fund if you feel so inclined. http://blog.cjanerun.com/
