Blueberry Picking

When a friend called and invited us to go blueberry picking pastoral beauty with children in it filled my mind. I remember picking raspberries as a kid and it was so wonderful. I was so excited to share that with my kids! But...we'll just say it wasn't all i had pictured! First off, when i went as a kid in washington it was probably a cool 76 degrees, here it was probably around 95 with very high humidity. Second, i don't think i was nearly as bug phobic as my kids. I didn't even know that was possible and it is most likely my fault...but they spent the entire time worry about the rather large flying bugs stuck inside the picking area with us. We picked enough for Ashley's dessert, took a few pictures and headed to the farm for cold apple cider and ashley provided the feeding the goat entertainment. London loved it...Cam wanted nothing to do with the slobbery goat tongues...Addie just wanted to go home. Maybe in the fall when it's cooler we will try again, but for now...it was a lot of fun for the mommies and it wielded some fun pictures!

You're getting good with that camera; those pics are adorable. I love that you don't pose them, but get them doing their thing.
I'll bet in 25 years they'll remember a great time picking blueberries and want to do it with their kids too...

Okay so we'll have to try apple picking this fall. That's a good point, it NEVER gets above 90 in Portland, I am NOT used to this kind of humidity!!

I know ALL TOO WELL that kind of summer warmth :) The humidity seems to make it feel 10 times hotter...BUT with the humidity comes lush BEAUTIFUL greenery :) I do miss that. These pics are adorable Ali. I agree with Kirsten...I love that you don't pose them but that they are just doing their thing. It is fun to see their personalities. You ARE getting good with your camera...isn't it fun? I am finally starting to figure mine out as well. I have a long ways to go though, but am excited to keep learning. Just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you and hope you are doing well.

I love your pictures - you got some "pastoral beauty" captured in them - although those experiences never seem to be in real life the way that you nostalgicly envision it being.
